As soon as sunlight hits our exposed skin, the body’s natural production of vitamin D3 is triggered by the UVB rays in sunlight. Lifestyle and weather conditions make it difficult to get the daily amount of sunlight needed for the body to produce vitamin D on its own. Without sunlight, our immune system, bones, and teeth rely on a dietary supply of vitamin D.
In Vitamin D3 Plus, vegan vitamin D3 is further supported by calcium and magnesium.
Sango corals live in the waters around the island of Okinawa in Japan. Coral polyps constantly deposit calcium carbonate, thereby building the coral reef. The coral polyps and the coral reef are protected by the government. Over time, parts of the calcium carbonate deposits formed by the coral animals naturally break off and sink to the seafloor. These broken-off pieces of calcium carbonate may be collected from the seafloor under strict government supervision. No living coral animals are collected along with them. The coral pieces are ground into a fine powder, which serves as a natural source of magnesium and calcium.
